Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution - Bill of Rights

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Preservation and Proposition

Our mission is to document the pivotal Second Amendment events that occurred in Frontier Mercersburg, and its environs, and to heighten awareness of the importance of these events in the founding of our Nation.

We are dedicated to the preservation of the place where the Second Amendment was "born" and to the proposition that the Second Amendment (the "right to bear arms") is the keystone of our Liberty and the Republic.

Guns: Only for the Rich and Elected!

By JW Ross

It is becoming increasingly clear that "WE THE PEOPLE" are once again being led to slaughter.

Just as in the 1930's when Hitler planned his "RISE" and fashioned laws that confiscated the guns of law abiding Germans (specifically the Jews and the gypsies), our law makers, the White House, and the Department of Justice are crafting laws that restrict the use and ownership of guns by the folk. These restrictions however DO NOT apply to the law makers, members of the White House, government employees in general, and "brown shirt" government paramilitary groups like the TSA.

While my right to defend myself and my family are being in part or wholly curtailed by the newly proposed anti-gun laws, ALL of the government officials and their families, the media, corporate/Wall Street moguls, and Hollywood celebrities will continues to have armed protection at home and in the public.

To those who today support gun control . . .the day will come when the people you voted for are no longer in power. . .How well will you sleep then!?

Worth Remembering . . .

First they came . . .

By JW Ross

First they came for the guns of the Republicans, and I did not speak out --

Because I was not a Republican.

Then they came for the guns of the Conservatives, and I did not speak out --

Because I was not a Conservative.

Then they came for the guns of the Libertarians, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Libertarian.

Then they came for my guns -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Paraphrased from a poem written by Martin Niemöller, a prominent Protestant German pastor. Although and an ardent nationalist he emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last 7 years of Nazi rule in concentration camps.

Niemöller's original poem:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out -

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.
